Increasing our influence and impact with our external stakeholders and clients therefore continues to be a key element of the NAOs 2015-16 to 2017-18 strategy. To maximise our influence, we want our audit teams to continue to strengthen their effectiveness in the way they engage clients in order to achieve greater impact and influence with government. We want to see teams continue to improve their understanding about their audit clients and their business, to be up to date with their perspective and issues they face and be making the best judgements on both strategic and tactical client engagement choices.
