II.1.4) Short description of the contract or purchase(s) The National Audit Office scrutinises public spending on behalf of Parliament and are independent of Government. The NAO is headed by the Comptroller and Auditor General, Sir John Bourn. The NAO audits the accounts of central Government departments and agencies, as well as a wide range of other public bodies, and reports to parliament on economy, efficiency and effectiveness. The National Audit Office employs approximately 800 staff in 3 locations around England. Our Headquarters are in Victoria, Central London where the majority of our staff are based. Most of the application training will be carried out at the NAO London HQ in our fully equipped IT Training room.
